Mash potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 ½ lb / 2 kg potatoes
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped thyme
  • salt and black paper per taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot of salted boiling water cook the potatoes and the garlic cloves until they become soft – about 25 min. Drain the potatoes and garlic into a colander and let them rest for 5 min to steam dry.
  2. Mash the potatoes with the milk, butter and herbs, season to taste with salt and pepper and serve.
