Heat the oven to 400ºF/ 200ºC and brush a baking dish with a little bit of oil to prevent from sticking. Pat the chicken breasts dry and place them in the baking dish.
In a small bowl mix the olive oil, oregano, thyme, garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of salt. Coat the chicken breasts with the seasoning paste.
Using the same bowl mix together the white wine, garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, brown sugar and the remaining teaspoon of salt, then pour over the chicken breasts.
If using the lemon slices, nestle them between the chicken and bake for 15 min. Baste the chicken with the pan juice and bake for another 15 min.
