Paper Plate Number Match

A simple, hands-on number game that helps your kid match numbers and build early math confidence.

You’ll Need:

  • Paper plates
  • Number pieces — use any numbers you already have at home, or make your own using different textures and sizes (foam, cardboard, felt… anything works)
  • Marker

Let’s Make it:

  1. Write a big number on each paper plate and spread them out on the floor.
  2. Gather number pieces from different activities — mix sizes and textures or make a few of your own.
  3. Match each number to its plate — say it out loud, count together and celebrate every match.

Why We Love It:

  • Builds number recognition in a playful, pressure-free way.
  • Adds sensory learning — different sizes and textures make numbers more memorable.
  • Quick setup, low mess and reusable again and again.
  • Boosts confidence when kids see themselves “getting it right”.
