Alphabet Floor Painting

Who says learning letters has to happen at a desk? Let your little one bring the ABCs to life with this full-body painting activity.

You’ll Need:

  • Large sheet of paper or white roll paper
  • Watercolors or washable paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Marker or black crayon for outlining letters
  • Tape to secure paper to the floor or table

Let’s Make it:

  1. Tape down a big sheet of paper to the floor so it stays flat while your little artist paints.
  2. Draw large, bold letters of the alphabet across the paper using a marker—make them nice and wide for easy painting.
  3. Let your child pick their favorite colors and paint each letter, saying the letter’s name and sound as they go.

Why We Love It:

  • Combines art, movement and early literacy in one fun activity.
  • Helps with letter recognition, color identification and focus.
  • Encourages self-expression, independence and creativity.
