Handprint Chickens

Ready to welcome spring? Let those little hands hatch into the sweetest chicks you’ve ever seen.

You’ll Need:

  • Yellow paint
  • Paintbrush or sponge
  • White paper or cardstock
  • Red and brown markers

Let’s Make it:

  1. Paint your child’s hand with yellow paint and press it onto the paper — each handprint will become a chicken’s body. Let them dry completely.
  2. Use a red marker to draw combs on top of each chicken’s head and outline the wings and body.
  3. Draw little beaks, eyes, legs and tiny dots for feed on the ground to complete your pecking family of chickens.

Why We Love It:

  • A sweet and simple way to celebrate springtime creativity.
  • Invites kids to learn about farm animals in the most colorful, painty way possible.
  • Makes a sweet keepsake of those little handprints to treasure for years.
  • Perfect quick craft for a rainy day or a spring theme week.
