Milk with rice and cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup of rice
  • 3 cups of fresh milk
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • cinnamon for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice 3-4 times in lukewarm water.
  2. Heat the milk together with 1½ cups water. When the mixture boils, pour the rice and let it boil over a slow fire. When there is very little liquid left, sprinkle with sugar.
  3. After the sugar has melted, add the vanilla, transfer to bowls and sprinkle with cinnamon. You can have it chilled or slightly warmed.
