Fish in the Pond Counting Game

Turn snack time into learning time – ‘feed’ each pond with the right number of fish-shaped crackers—making counting and munching part of the fun.

You’ll Need:

  • White paper or a notebook
  • Blue crayon or marker
  • Black marker or pen
  • Fish-shaped crackers (like Goldfish)

Let’s Make it:

  1. On white paper, draw several pond shapes of different sizes.
  2. Inside each pond, write a number (e.g., 1–10 depending on your child’s ability).
  3. Use a blue crayon or marker to shade in the ponds.
  4. Give your child a small bowl of fish crackers. Ask them to place the correct number of fish into each pond.

Why We Love It:

  • Makes counting fun and interactive.
  • Builds number recognition and early math skills.
  • Easy to set up, with simple materials you already have at home.
