Pom Pom Tube Ramp

Turn your hallway wall into a mini STEM lab! Using just paper tubes, tape, and a few pom poms, your toddler can explore cause and effect, problem-solving, and hand-eye coordination—all while giggling and running back for more. Bonus: it’s great for independent play and easy to set up with items you already have at home.

You’ll Need:

  • ⁠ ⁠Empty paper tubes (toilet paper, paper towel, wrapping paper)
  • ⁠ ⁠Painter’s tape (safe for walls)
  • ⁠ ⁠Pom poms (medium to large size works best)
  • ⁠ ⁠Small bowls or containers to catch the pom poms

Let’s Build It:

1.⁠  Tape the tubes to a wall or door at an angle using painter’s tape. Try different heights and directions to create a zig-zag effect.
2. Place a bowl or basket under the bottom tube to collect the pom poms.
3.⁠  Let your child drop pom poms in the top and watch them roll all the way down.
4.⁠  Encourage your little one to try adding more to make a longer ramp.

Creative Tips:

  • ⁠ ⁠Let your child decorate the tubes with stickers or paint before placing them to the wall
  • Create a color-sorting game: mark each catcher bowl with a color and have you kid aim matching pom poms into the right one.
  • Turn it into a counting challenge—drop in 5 pom poms and count together how many make it to the basket.
