Squish & Swirl Paint Bags

Need a quick activity that feels like magic for your toddler and won’t leave your kitchen looking like a paint explosion? This is one of our favorite go-to’s. It’s finger painting, but totally mess-free.

You’ll Need:

  • A big Ziploc bag
  • A few drops of washable paint (3–4 colors is plenty)
  • Painter’s tape or packing tape
  • Optional: a sheet of thick paper to slide inside

Let’s Make it:

  1. Squeeze a few blobs of paint into the bag. Keep the colors separate or swirl them just a little to start the mixing.
  2. Press out the extra air and zip it tight. You can tape the top shut if your toddler is the curious type.
  3. Stick the bag to a table, floor or a window so it doesn’t slide around.
  4. Invite your child to press, squish, and swirl the paint around with their fingers. They’ll love watching the colors blend and patterns appear.

Why We Love It:

  • No mess = no stress
  • A fun way to explore colors and textures
  • Perfect for rainy days, quiet time or while you make dinner
