Fluffy Foam Art

Get ready for a squishy, colorful, sensory-rich painting activity your toddler will love! With just a few everyday items from around the house you can create a light, puffy paint that’s perfect for messy play and creative fun.

You’ll Need:

  • Shaving foam (the classic white kind with no scent)
  • White glue (like school glue)
  • Food coloring or liquid watercolors
  • Bowls or ziplock bags
  • Craft sticks, brushes, or rollers
  • Large paper, tray, or cardboard
  • Optional: glitter, sprinkles, sequins, or other small craft items

Let’s Make it:

  1. In a bowl or ziplock bag, combine equal parts shaving foam and white glue.
  2. Mix until it’s light, fluffy, and evenly blended.
  3. Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolors—one color per batch.
  4. If using a bag, seal it and squish until the color is fully mixed.
  5. Snip the corner if you want to turn it into a mini piping bag for squeezing paint!

Why We Love It:

  • The foam and glue combo creates a soft, squishy texture that’s irresistible for little hands.
  • All the mixing, squeezing, and swirling help strengthen those little fingers.
  • It sparks creativity—your kids can swirl, dab or squish however they like with no “right” or “wrong” result.
