Paper Plate Donkey

A farmyard craft that little ones will love. With big ears, a sweet face and a friendly smile, it’s the perfect addition to your farm animal craft collection.

You’ll Need:

  • 2 paper plates
  • Gray and black paint or crayons
  • White paper (for the muzzle)
  • Googly eyes
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Black marker

Let’s Make it:

  1. Paint or color both paper plates gray — one will be used for the donkey’s head and the second for cutting out the ears. Let them dry completely.
  2. Cut an oval from white paper and glue it near the bottom of the face plate. Draw two small nostrils and a big, friendly smile.
  3. From the second gray plate, cut out two long ear shapes and glue them to the top of the donkey’s head.
  4. Stick on googly eyes and add a short strip of black mane between the ears for a final touch.

  • Donkeys are calm, gentle animals that often protect other farm animals like sheep and goats.

Why We Love It:

  • Introduces kids to farm animals in a playful, hands-on way.
  • Encourages focus and patience as kids build their donkey step-by-step.
  • Inspires pretend play and storytelling (“What’s your donkey’s name?”).
  • Uses everyday, affordable materials to create something adorable.
