Paper Plate Dolphin

This adorable dolphin craft is simple, fun and full of seaside charm — perfect for little marine explorers.

You’ll Need:

  • 2 paper plates
  • Grey paint
  • Googly eye
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Paintbrush

Let’s Make it:

  1. Paint both paper plates grey and let them dry completely.
  2. From one plate cut out the dolphin’s main body with a rounded head, curved back and pointed nose.
  3. Use the second plate to cut a flipper, tail, and dorsal fin. Attach them to the body with glue or tape.
  4. Stick on a googly eye and your dolphin is ready.

Did You Know?

  • A dolphin’s skin is super smooth and heals very quickly, even from scratches.
  • They love to play — tossing seaweed, riding waves or even blowing bubble rings for fun.
  • Some dolphins sleep while half their brain stays awake — so they can keep swimming safely.
  • Dolphins live in family groups called pods and they always help each other.
  • They use teamwork to catch fish — forming circles to trap schools of fish together.

Why We Love It:

  • Inspires curiosity about sea life and the world beneath the waves.
  • Encourages storytelling and pretend play.
  • Uses simple, eco-friendly materials — perfect for creative play without the clutter.
