Pinecone Turkey

This little turkey is full of charm and creativity, a simple joy-filled craft that keeps little hands busy and hearts happy.

You’ll Need:

  • Pinecone
  • Small pom-pom (for the head)
  • Googly eyes
  • Red and orange craft foam or felt (for beak and wattle)
  • Paint in fall colors (red, yellow, orange, green, brown)
  • Glue

Let’s Make it:

  1. Paint the pinecone scales in bright fall shades to make colorful feathers. Let it dry completely.
  2. Glue a small pom-pom to the front of the pinecone for the turkey’s head.
  3. Cut a small triangle from orange felt for the beak and a wiggly shape from red felt for the wattle. Glue both under the googly eyes to bring your turkey to life.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages fine motor skills and creativity through painting, gluing and assembling.
  • Turns a simple pinecone into something perfect for imaginative play or Thanksgiving decor.
  • Teaches kids about nature by using real materials found outdoors.
  • Builds patience and focus as kids wait for paint to dry and carefully glue each piece.
