Leafy Turkey Friend

Kids will love turning nature into art, mixing outdoor exploration with festive holiday creativity.

You’ll Need:

  • Colorful fall leaves (real or craft)
  • Brown construction paper or foam sheet (for the turkey body)
  • Orange paper (for the beak and feet)
  • Red paper or felt (for the wattle)
  • Googly eyes
  • Glue stick or craft glue
  • A4 paper sheet or cardboard backing

Let’s Make it:

  1. Gather colorful autumn leaves in different shapes and sizes.
  2. Cut out a round turkey body and head shape from brown paper/foam. Cut out feet, a triangle beak and a wattle from orange and red paper. Add googly eyes.
  3. Take an A4 sheet or cardboard backing, spread glue and arrange the leaves in a fan shape to look like turkey feathers.
  4. Glue the turkey body right in front of the leaf feathers, then glue on the beak, feet and wattle to finish your turkey friend.

Why We Love It:

  • Blends outdoor exploration with hands-on creativity, helping your kid to connect with nature.
  • Promotes focus and patience as little ones arrange each leaf to form the turkey’s tail.
  • Sparks conversations about fall, gratitude and the beauty of seasonal change.
  • Makes a wonderful family activity that combines learning, laughter, and creativity.
