Rain of Hearts Cloud

When clouds can’t hold all their love, they rain hearts instead — let’s make one!

You’ll Need:

  • Cardboard or thick white paper (for the cloud)
  • Cotton balls
  • Colored craft paper (for hearts)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • String or yarn
  • Tape

Let’s Make it:

  1. Cut out a cloud shape from cardboard or thick paper — this will be your base.
  2. Gently pull apart cotton balls and glue them all over the cloud until it looks soft and fluffy.
  3. Cut out several heart shapes from colorful paper. For a puffy 3D look, fold three hearts in half and glue their sides together, leaving the last side open.
  4. Cut 4–6 pieces of string and glue a heart to each one. Close the last petal so it holds the string in place once dry.
  5. Flip your cloud over and tape the heart strings to the back so they hang down beautifully and your “Rain of Hearts” is ready.

Why We Love It:

  • Builds patience and focus as little ones glue, fold, and string.
  • Teaches sequencing and following steps — all through play.
  • Promotes imaginative thinking — “What else could fall from my cloud?”
  • Creates a sweet keepsake and brings calm, cozy time together.
