Alphabet Monster Match Game

Slide the alphabet strip through the monster’s mouth for hands-on letter fun, one letter at a time.

You’ll Need:

  • A cardboard box (shoebox works well)
  • Felt-tip pens to decorate
  • Scissors (adult use)
  • Long strip of card or paper with the alphabet written on it
  • Wooden or foam letters

How to Make It:

  1. Take a shoe box and cut a big mouth shape on the lid (like a silly monster).
  2. Decorate the front with a monster face and write “Feed me!” underneath.
  3. Make a long strip of card with the alphabet written in order (A–Z).
  4. Cut two slits in the lid under the monster’s mouth, the same width as the strip. Push the strip up through the first slit so a letter shows on the top, then slide it back down through the second slit into the box. As you pull the strip, each new letter will appear under the monster’s mouth.
  5. Spread out the wooden letters nearby for your child to match and “feed” to the monster.

Why We Love It:

  • Turns learning into a playful and engaging game.
  • Builds alphabet recognition and matching skills.
  • Easy to make with simple materials at home.
