Bow Tie Pasta Butterflies

Pasta party in the garden! Let’s turn noodles into butterflies, flowers and buzzing little bugs that bring spring to life — no cooking required!

You’ll Need:

  • Assorted pasta shapes (bowtie, shell, spiral and ruffle — not too small to choke)
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • White glue
  • White cardstock or thick paper

Let’s Make it:

  1. Start by drawing a simple outdoor scene — grass, a tree, or even a sunny sky.
  2. Arrange your pasta: bowties become butterflies, shells can be ladybugs, and ruffled pasta makes beautiful flowers.
  3. Glue each pasta piece in place and let it dry.
  4. Once dry, add details — wings, antennae and stems — using crayons or a black marker.

Why We Love It:

  • Sparks creativity as kids turn simple pasta into beautiful spring flowers.
  • Teaches patience and focus in a calm, hands-on way.
  • Encourages nature learning and curiosity about how things grow.
  • A lovely bonding craft to slow down and create together.
