Color Match Pops

A calm, hands-on color activity that invites little ones to slow down, focus and explore bright colors through simple matching play.

You’ll Need:

  • Cardboard
  • Felt (foam paper works just as well)
  • Earbuds
  • Straws
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Let’s Make it:

  1. Cut two sets of felt shapes. You can choose fun shapes like clouds or stars, or use basic shapes (circle, square, triangle) to add an extra learning layer.
  2. Glue one end of the earbud to a felt shape, trim off the other end and set it aside.
  3. Cut the straws to fit your cardboard base, then glue them vertically, leaving a little space between each piece and the bottom edge of the cardboard.
  4. Glue the second set of felt shapes onto the cardboard, placing each one just below its matching straw.
  5. Let everything dry completely.
  6. Encourage your kid to slide each earbud shape into the straw that matches the color they’re holding.

Why We Love It:

  • Builds strong color recognition through active, hands-on matching.
  • Improves hand-eye coordination and controlled movement.
  • Develops focus and concentration through purposeful play.
  • Boosts confidence as children successfully complete each match.
