DIY Paper Flower Basket

Great for parent-child bonding – crafting side by side that invites laughter, imagination and teamwork.

You’ll Need:

  • Green construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue or tape
  • Colorful foam paper or felt (for the flowers)
  • 1 green pipe cleaner (for the handle)

Let’s Make it:

  1. Take a sheet of green construction paper and roll it into a cylinder. Secure the edge with glue or tape so it holds its shape. This will form the basket.
  2. From the top edge of the cylinder cut multiple long strips downward, stopping about halfway before reaching the bottom. These strips will hang over like flower stems.
  3. Cut little flowers from foam paper or felt and glue them onto the basket’s strips. You can mix colors for more cheerful, springtime look or keep it just 1 color.
  4. Bend a green pipe cleaner into an arch and glue or tape each end to the inside of the basket’s rim. Hold until secure.

Why We Love It:

  • Turns simple materials into a bright, blooming basket — perfect for celebrating spring creativity.
  • Boosts focus and patience as each piece comes together beautifully.
  • A cheerful craft that doubles as décor — kids love seeing their handmade baskets on display
