Handprint Sunshine

Let your little one’s hands bring sunshine right inside your home.

You’ll Need:

  • Yellow and orange paint
  • Paintbrush or sponge
  • White paper or cardstock
  • Black and red markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Let’s Make it:

  1. Paint your child’s hand with yellow paint and press it onto paper. Repeat with orange to make more rays — around 8–10 handprints total. Let them dry, then cut them out.
  2. Cut a large yellow circle for the sun’s center. Use markers to draw a happy face with eyes, smile and rosy cheeks.
  3. Glue the handprints around the circle to create a warm, glowing sun. Arrange them so the colors alternate for a glowing, cheerful effect.

Why We Love It:

  • A joyful way to celebrate sunshine and happiness while getting creative together.
  • Sparks conversations about sunshine, warmth and happy weather.
  • Easy to make with simple materials — perfect for little hands.
