Hot Chocolate Cup

Nothing feels cozier than a cup of hot chocolate on a chilly day — so let’s make our own festive version topped with whipped cream and marshmallows.

You’ll Need:

  • Paper cup or cardstock cut into a mug shape
  • White foam paper for whipped cream
  • White cotton balls or tissue paper for marshmallows
  • Red-and-white pipe cleaner for the candy cane
  • Snowflake cutouts or stickers for decoration
  • Scissors and glue

Let’s Make it:

  1. If you’re using a plain cup, start by cutting it in half vertically. Decorate one half with snowflakes or festive patterns, then cut a handle from the other half and glue it to the side.
  2. To add the whipped cream cut a wavy shape from white foam paper and lightly shade it with a pencil to give it that layered, fluffy look.
  3. For the marshmallows roll small balls from white cotton or tissue paper and glue them onto the whipped cream for the perfect cozy topping.
  4. Tuck in a candy cane made from white and red pipe cleaners — simply twist them together to form a swirl, then curve one end and place it in the whipped cream for the perfect festive finishing touch.

Why We Love It:

  • A sweet, mess-free way to celebrate the season with your little one.
  • Encourages pretend play — perfect for a holiday “hot chocolate stand.”
  • Inspires imagination and hands-on fun during cold winter days.
