Number Match Sticks

This simple DIY activity helps toddlers and preschoolers practice number recognition and sequencing while building fine motor skills.

You’ll Need:

  • Craft sticks (painted or colored with markers)
  • Clothespins
  • Permanent marker

Let’s Make it:

  1. Write numbers 1–10 along each colored craft stick.
  2. Write one number (1–10) on each matching colored clothespin.
  3. Mix them up and invite your child to match the clothespin number to the same number on the stick. Clip it right on top!

Why We Love It:

  • Strengthens number recognition and one-to-one correspondence.
  • Encourages focus, independence, and persistence.
  • Easy to set up, budget-friendly, and reusable.
