Dancing Cotton Swabs Skeleton

Who knew cotton swabs could turn into a dancing skeleton? This spooky-yet-silly craft is the perfect mix of science and fun.

You’ll Need:

  • Black construction paper (for the background)
  • White paper (for the head)
  • Cotton swabs
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Marker (for the face)
  • Optional: ribbon, stickers, or glitter for extra personality

Let’s Make it:

  1. Snip cotton swabs into different lengths for arms, ribs and legs.
  2. Glue down a long cotton swab for the spine, then add smaller pieces across for the ribs. Attach arms, legs and little bone “hands” at the ends.
  3. Cut out a skull shape from white paper, draw on a big happy face and glue it on top.
  4. Add a bow, hat or silly accessories to make your skeleton unique.
  5. Pose the skeleton like it’s dancing, waving or jumping—it’s all about imagination and playful expression.

Why We Love It:

  • Strengthens fine motor skills as kids place and glue each little bone piece.
  • Builds spatial awareness while arranging cotton swabs to form a body.
  • Encourages creativity and imagination as kids give their skeleton a unique look.
