Leaf Ballerinas

Turn fallen leaves into twirling ballerinas – it’s easy, creative and a perfect way to bring nature into art time.

You’ll Need:

  • Real autumn leaves (variety of colors and shapes)
  • White or light-colored paper
  • Pencil, crayons, or markers
  • Glue stick

Let’s Make them:

  1. Sketch simple ballerina stick figures with arms in different dance poses.
  2. Choose a leaf for each ballerina and glue it under the torso to form a flowing skirt.
  3. For extra fun add small details like hair buns, a stage floor or even music notes around the dancers.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages kids to see everyday objects in imaginative new ways.
  • A calming, screen-free activity that feels like storytelling on paper.
  • Sparks conversations about seasons, nature and creativity.
  • Combines art and nature in one fun project.
