Handmade Just for You, Dad

This adorable Father’s Day craft is not only fun to make but turns into a handy pencil holder — perfect for Dad’s desk or workspace.

You’ll Need:

  • Empty toilet paper roll
  • Black and white paper
  • Buttons
  • Bowtie pasta (or real ribbon for a bow)
  • Glue
  • Scissors
  • Black base (optional: cardboard square)

Let’s Make it:

  1. To make your pencil holder sturdy, cut small slits (about 5mm) around the bottom of the toilet roll. Bend the tabs inward and glue them onto the cardboard square to create the base.
  2. Wrap white paper around the roll and glue it on — this will be Dad’s shirt.
  3. Cut a piece of black foam sheet and wrap it over the white paper, leaving a V-shape at the top to show the “shirt.” Glue it securely in place.
  4. Glue a bowtie pasta at the top for a bow, and colorful buttons down the front for that polished look.
  5. Let it Dry. Once it’s dry, fill it with pencils, pens or even a Father’s Day note!

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages creativity and fine motor skills.
  • Makes a practical and heartfelt Father’s Day gift.
  • Helps kids express love and appreciation in a hands-on way.
