Ice Painting Fun

Watch water-based paints come to life on cold, wet ice—blending, dripping, and freezing right before your eyes.

You’ll Need:

  • Ice blocks (frozen in a large bowl or mold)
  • Washable paint or food coloring
  • Paintbrushes
  • Tray or outdoor surface

Let’s Make it:

  1. Freeze water in a big bowl overnight to make one large block of ice.
  2. Dip the bowl quickly in warm water to loosen and release the ice.
  3. Place your ice block on a tray or outside surface and start painting. Watch as water-based paints behave differently on the cold, wet ice — your kid will get to see colors drip and freeze in real time, turning melting ice into a masterpiece.

Why We Love It:

  • Keeps little hands cool and busy on warm summer days.
  • Inspires creativity—every painting looks unique as the ice changes shape.
  • Perfect for outdoor play — engaging and easy to clean up.
