Magnet Maze

This craft is a creative way to introduce kids to magnetic force—and it’s just the right kind of challenge to keep little minds engaged.

Please note: Only try this activity if your child no longer puts things in their mouth. We recommend using large-sized magnets (a few inches long) which are not easily swallowed. Small magnets can be very dangerous if swallowed. Always supervise closely and use your best judgment.

You’ll Need:

  • Paper plate
  • Markers or crayons
  • 2 fridge magnets

Let’s Make it:

  1. Draw a fun path for your magnet to follow. It can twist, swirl or spiral — as simple or detailed as you like. Just make sure it has a clear start and finish.
  2. Place one magnet on top of the plate.
  3. Hold the other fridge magnet underneath the plate, right below the one on top and gently guide it through the maze.

Why We Love It:

  • Builds hand-eye coordination and focus while guiding the magnets around the track.
  • Keeps little ones engaged and imaginative — perfect for cozy indoor days with mam and dad.
  • Simple to make using everyday home materials — no fancy supplies needed.
