Sticky Note Letter Match

This hands-on letter hunt combines movement, matching and alphabet learning all in one playful activity.

You’ll Need:

  • Large sheet of paper or poster paper
  • Marker
  • Colorful sticky notes
  • Tape

Let’s Make it:

  1. Tape a large sheet of paper to a wall or cabinet and write different uppercase letters across it with a marker.
  2. Write matching letters on colorful sticky notes and place them around the room.
  3. Let your little one find the matching letter and stick it on top of the correct one while saying the letter sound out loud.

Why We Love It:

  • Builds letter recognition through movement and hands-on play.
  • Encourages focus, memory and problem-solving skills.
  • Boosts confidence as kids independently match and identify letters.
  • Turns simple materials into an exciting learning game.

Creative Tips:

  • Add movement challenges like hopping, tiptoeing or bear crawling.
  • Ask your child to name a word that starts with the letter they found.
  • Say the letter sound out loud and let your child finds it and match it to support early phonics skills.
  • Hide the sticky notes in silly places around the room for an extra fun “letter treasure hunt.”
  • Try lowercase and uppercase matching for a more advanced version of the game.
