Handprint Christmas Light Trees

A simple, colourful craft that turns tiny hands into festive Christmas trees.

You’ll Need:

  • Green washable paint
  • Black marker or black paint
  • Red, blue, and green paint (or markers) for the lights
  • Yellow paint or marker (for the star)
  • Paintbrush or sponge
  • White cardstock or thick paper

Let’s Make it:

  1. Brush green paint onto your child’s hand and press it firmly onto the paper to create handprint “trees.” Make two or more prints across the page and let them dry.
  2. Once dry, use a black marker or black paint to draw a wiggly string looping around and across each handprint, like real Christmas lights wrapping a tree.
  3. Add small colourful bulbs along the black line using red, blue and green paint. Finish by painting a small yellow star at the top of each handprint tree.

Why We Love It:

  • Perfect for gifting to grandparents, teachers or family members during the holidays.
  • A sweet way to save your child’s tiny handprints as a holiday memory.
  • Perfect for creating matching family pieces — each person can make their own handprint tree.
