Rainbow Salt

  • Ziplock bags
  • Food coloring
  • Tray
  • Small spoon, scoop, or cup
  • (Optional) Toy animals for pretend play

Let’s Make it:

  1. Pour plain salt into a ziplock bag. Add a few drops of food coloring, seal the bag and rub it between your hands until the color mixes evenly. No drying time needed—it’s ready immediately.
  2. Repeat the same steps with different colors to make a rainbow set.
  3. Spread the colored salts in sections on a tray.
  4. Give your little one a spoon and a cup and let them get busy scooping, pouring and mixing. You can even add toy animals for extra pretend play fun.
