Rainy Day Umbrella

There’s something magical about rainy days—the cozy calm, the sound of drops and the chance to create something beautiful while you stay warm inside.

You’ll Need:

  • White cardstock or thick paper
  • Crayons, markers, or watercolor paints
  • Blue paper (for raindrops)
  • Yarn or string
  • Scissors and glue

Let’s Make it:

  1. Draw and color a bright umbrella on white cardstock, then carefully cut it out.
  2. Cut yarn into different lengths to create your rain strings.
  3. Snip out blue paper raindrops and glue them along each yarn piece.
  4. Finally, attach the yarn to the back of your umbrella so the raindrops dangle below. Let it dry and your umbrella is ready.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages creativity through colorful patterns and playful designs.
  • Invites storytelling and imaginative play.
  • Sparks curiosity about weather and how rain forms.
  • Simple, low-prep and perfect for cozy afternoons indoors.
