Santa’s Clothesline

Bring a little North Pole magic to your day with this adorable craft!

You’ll Need:

  • Red craft foam or red construction paper
  • White cotton balls or cotton pads (for the fuzzy trim)
  • Black and yellow paper (for Santa’s belt)
  • String or yarn
  • Clothespins
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Coloured cardstock (to use as the background)

Let’s Make it:

  1. Cut out Santa’s coat, pants, and hat from red foam or paper. Add belt pieces and little details using black and yellow paper.
  2. Pull apart cotton balls and glue the fluffy pieces onto the hat, sleeves, coat trim and pant cuffs.
  3. Tie a piece of yarn across your cardstock to make a clothesline.
  4. Use clothespins to clip Santa’s outfit onto the line—just like laundry day at the North Pole.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages pretend play as kids imagine Santa getting ready for Christmas Eve.
  • Teaches sequencing in a simple way, using clear “first, next, last” steps.
  • Perfect for building confidence—kids feel proud seeing their own mini clothesline displayed.
  • A calm and engaging activity that uses budget-friendly, easy-to-find materials.
