Spooky Halloween Stones

Turn ordinary rocks into a masterpiece. These Halloween stones make the perfect decorations or story starters.

You’ll Need:

  • Smooth stones or pebbles (washed and dried)
  • Acrylic paint or paint pens
  • Black marker for details
  • Paintbrushes
  • Optional: clear sealer to make them last longer

Let’s Make it:

  1. Go on a fun outdoor hunt with your little one to collect smooth, flat rocks in different shapes and sizes. Wash and dry them well before painting.
  2. For some pebbles, paint the whole surface first and let it dry before adding faces. For others, start by drawing your picture (like a ghost or web) and then color as accordingly.
  3. Create spooky faces using markers or fine brushes, like silly pumpkin, sleepy mummy, surprised ghost or goofy monster.
  4. Once everything is dry, coat your rocks with sealant so your spooky friends last all season long.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages creativity and fine motor skills.
  • Builds focus and patience while painting and adding little details.
  • A wonderful mix of art and nature that keeps screen time away.
  • Turns a simple walk into an exciting treasure hunt for the perfect rocks.
  • A great family activity that sparks imagination and laughter.
