Start an Indoor Garden

No backyard? No problem! This mini indoor garden brings springtime magic to your table.

You’ll Need:

  • An empty egg carton or small containers
  • Potting soil
  • Seeds (basil, tomatoes or flowers are great starters)
  • A spray bottle or small watering can

Let’s Make it:

  1. Have your little one fill each section of the egg carton with soil, patting it down gently.
  2. Poke a small hole in each spot, drop in a seed and cover it with a soft layer of soil.
  3. Give it a light sprinkle of water and place the carton on a sunny windowsill.
  4. Each day invite your child to check their mini garden — water when needed, notice any tiny sprouts and talk about what’s changing.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages responsibility and patience through daily plant care.
  • Builds curiosity about nature and how things grow.
  • Promotes eco-friendly habits and appreciation for the environment.
