Popsicle Counting Tubes

This fun and hands-on activity helps our toddlers and preschoolers practice counting, number recognition and fine motor skills—all with a simple DIY setup.

You’ll Need:

  • Cardboard base (a piece from a box works well)
  • Toilet paper tubes
  • Popsicles (in different colors)
  • Marker
  • Tape or glue

Let’s Make it:

  1. Cut small slits along the top of each tube—these will be the “slots” where your little one can slide in the counting sticks.
  2. Glue or tape the toilet paper tubes onto your base in a line, creating a neat little counting path.
  3. Write numbers 1–5 beside each tube using bright, bold colors.
  4. Invite your little one to count and slide in the matching number of sticks for each tube!

Why We Love It:

  • Builds early math and counting skills through hands-on play.
  • Strengthens focus, patience, and fine motor coordination.
  • Uses recycled materials—simple, sustainable, and fun!
