Paper Plate Cow

Moo-ve over boring crafts — this paper plate cow is here to make your little one giggle and create and learn about shapes, patterns and animals that live on the farm.

You’ll Need:

  • 1 paper plate for the face
  • A second paper plate for the white ears
  • Pink paper for the nose and inner ears
  • Googly eyes
  • Black crayon or marker
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

Let’s Make it:

  1. Use a black crayon or marker to draw and fill in large cow spots around the paper plate — there’s no right or wrong way to do it!
  2. Cut a pink oval for the cow’s nose and glue it to the bottom of the plate. Draw two black nostrils and stick on the googly eyes above.
  3. Cut two large ear shapes from the second paper plate and two smaller pink shapes for the inside. Glue the pink pieces on top of the white ones, then attach both ears to the top of your cow’s head.

Did You Know?

  • They can smell things from up to 6 miles (10 km) away.
  • Cows communicate with each other using different “moos” — their voices change based on how they feel!
  • They chew their food over 40 times before swallowing — that’s why they’re called “ruminants.”
  • Cows love routine — they like eating, resting and being milked at the same times every day.

Why We Love It:

  • Encourages creativity while introduces early farm animal learning in a hands-on, memorable way.
  • Encourages focus and patience as kids assemble and decorate their cow.
  • Strengthens hand–eye coordination and spatial awareness.
  • Quick, mess-free, and full of personality—each cow turns out a little different!
